I have Stage2 breast cancer and did not need chemo. There is a test you can have that will tell you how likely it is that chemo will help (called Oncotype, though there are a couple other similar tests.) In some cases chemo is a given, for instance if you have a very large tumor or you are HER2 positive. If 3 or more lymph nodes show cancer, you will almost certainly have chemo.
